The Black Forest is a living web of roots and light, wind and water, history and future. Within it lies the energy that schwarzwald nature translates into projects that supply municipalities, companies, and people. This power should be made visible. For this, Hochburg developed a Corporate Design that is rooted in the region and that visually, instantly reflects the level of a technologically leading energy brand.

schwarzwald nature is part of the ENCW family. With deer’s CI we have already set the first milestone and created a brand presence for a target group that seeks flexible mobility, communicates in an approachable way, and is as much at home in the city as on the move. With schwarzwald nature, the second major rebranding within the group now follows. Two independent brands that serve different worlds but are intended to share a design signature. deer is mobility-oriented, easily accessible, and direct. schwarzwald nature, by contrast, is systemic, technological, and energized.

Brand DNA

The color palette is drawn from the landscape itself. Gentle greens evoke spruce treetops in the morning light; warm yellows the radiance of the sun over open ridges. Brown and earthy accents connect the visual system to its origin. No artificial signal cues—only tones that resonate because they are familiar. The colors carry the promise that every kilowatt-hour generated is in harmony with its source.

 

The imagery is deeply shaped by the tension between nature and technology. It shows regional landscapes in soft light, solar fields that incline toward the sun like leaves, wind turbines that touch the sky like treetops. People do not appear as extras, but as bearers of responsibility and knowledge. The compositions are clear, the perspectives grounded, the technology visible and at the same time embedded in the natural environment.

 

At the center is a new brand mark that condenses principles of nature and technical precision into a sign. The form combines organic curves with geometric rigor. It can be read as a tree—crown above, root system below. It can be understood as a flow of energy, as a magnetic field that bundles forces, as a plug connection that networks systems. This sign is not an ornament but a system carrier: it functions as an independent symbol, as a modular design element, as a recurring pattern on surfaces and in infographics.

 

The wordmark is set in lowercase and a clear sans serif whose even stroke widths and open forms unite accessibility and precision. It is deliberately unpretentious, neutral, and enduring, without losing its connection to natural openness.

The type concept works with two voices. ABC Maxi brings organic dynamism and technical precision to headlines. It carries sweeping curves and angular lines, appearing clear and structured without becoming cold. TT Hoves Pro Expanded forms the factual layer for technical data, processes, and clear messages. Its wide, balanced form makes information immediately graspable and lends it stability. Together, the two typefaces create a visual rhythm that makes energy tangible.

Hochburg—business as usual: The Corporate Design is modular in structure. Elements interlock like conduits, forming flows and connections. The Flowframe frames content without constraining it and follows the radii and axes of the brand mark. Icons emerge from the same formal language, integrating even the smallest design elements into the system. And it works on small as well as large media or communication channels.
