The presets are each time a highlight and a positive pressure at once: The subject is paper, a festival tent from a magazine, ergo a celebration for us designers, driven by an enthusiastic, captivating client: "I want you to experiment!" Going crazy is allowed, and Andreas Kurbos and his team take this very seriously.
In Stuttgart, the mobility of tomorrow is thought out and designed: As a global design studio in the fields of automotive, product design, and UX, studiokurbos daily extracts its sense of aesthetics, intuitive functionality, and future trends from visionary projects. This should be extraordinarily conveyed to clients and partners in their own magazine. The scent of freshly printed paper should merge with the wow effect.
Moreover, No6 is the first issue after five years. studiokurbos has grown a lot since the last magazine (2019); the team, the international status, and in 2021, a second location was opened in Shanghai, as well as the reputation as experts for the Chinese (automotive) market, hard-earned. In other words: the issue had to be a banger.
We switched the design-mobility mode to intuitive takeoff and flew over the individual pages. Under the conceptual theme umbrella "Crossculture," wild colors and wild typography spill across the pages, bubble-like elements and figures rise from the 2D plane. What you usually don't see in such an extreme form: the incredibly strong, futuristic imagery that studiokurbos provided gave the A3 tableau the decisive leverage towards what-is-this-for-some-crazy-shit.
Crossculture is becoming an increasingly important movement, especially in the globalized business context, and refers to the interaction and the respectful and appreciative exchange between people from different cultural backgrounds. This spirit of transfer flowed into the design. A dynamic is created between rush and calm. The complex world in which studiokurbos operates is artistically simplified and projected into the eye of the consumer. A magazine, like a pop-art gallery. Individual pages are perfectly framed and ready to be hung up.

The digital. Captured on paper. Futuristic and inspiring. An editorial on the theme of unfolding. No page is like the other. And yet, a recognizable guiding thought. In short: Kurbos Mag N°5 is here.

Arrived. And ready for the next level. More powerful in imagery. More self-confident. And more urban. The city as a source of inspiration. Design culture in the heart of Stuttgart.

Kurbos Magazine — 2019
Designers sought designers. Studiokurbos needed an image carrier that illustrated its visionary ideas.

Designers sought designers. The young team of automotive, product, and user experience designers needed an image carrier that illustrated their sometimes groundbreaking ideas. HOCHBURG recommended and realized a sophisticated magazine. Now in its fourth edition.
