New branding for better standing.
The client: the Gesellschaft für Technische Überwachung – or GTÜ for short. The job: to make the brand more visible. More tangible. And more approachable. The target group: millions of drivers. But – and above all – thousands of experts working out there as independent inspection offices for and with the brand. Our ambition: to position GTÜ as a real brand, not just an official inspection organization.
The challenge: GTÜ as a huge organization with many different divisions. And a long design history. With lots of design and little structure. Often modified and never truly organized. So Hochburg first had to bring order, structure the design and its applications – and reduce it to the few things that truly matter. To clear guidelines that will ensure the design doesn’t take on a life of its own again across all the external offices.

GTÜ Rebranding — 2020
Technical. Human. Modular. A design system that makes many things possible and essential aspects visible.

Design for the world out there.
The probably most important GTÜ brand ambassadors are the inspection offices out there. This is where the brand comes to life. This is where it needs to be visible, clearly recognizable, and memorable.
This requires not only a well-thought-out design but also the corresponding guidelines on how and where it should be applied. For the organization itself and its many partners. For all applications, from analog to digital. Only then can every element and application from the design system feedback into the bigger picture: the GTÜ brand.
