Founded in 1998, farbrat gathers an exclusive value community of master painters and interior designers, currently representing 25 companies in the DACH region. The farbräte share a passion for quality craftsmanship, tradition, and progressive ideas, combining the latest materials with traditional craftsmanship. Farbrat is a true seal of quality when walls, surfaces, and spaces, down to seamless bathrooms, are to be made especially elegant. The farbrat network has been well-maintained since its inception, and exchange is encouraged. However, the brand's own appearance has suffered over the past 25 years and is almost at the level of its founding year, or rather, nonexistent. The brand performance is now aimed at increasing reach among customers and partners (e.g., architects, builders), rejuvenating the image to attract new businesses to the farbrat, and promoting the recruiting theme – craftsmanship is cool.
Some of you might know it from home: masking off often takes longer than the actual painting. Once the conceptual ideas are in place, it’s rolled out with the typical Hochburg roundhouse kick, right into every corner, for all surfaces, materials, and media. It starts – the pillar for master painters – with mixing the brand colors. The existing set was enhanced with refined accents that highlight the masterful craftsmanship. The faded wordmark was brought to the design operating table and reinitiated as an accurately standing design construction, with optical altitude officially established. The reinterpretation is a statement that generates a dynamic connection between craftsmanship, modernity, finesse, elegance, and self-confidence.

We reduced the old signet to its minimalist form, carving out the core values of farbrat: community, quality, passion, and innovation. From the intersection of design elements, a refined value diamond emerges, now filled with the new brand color gold. With the fitting claim "Space Excellence," the transformation into a sovereign word-image mark is complete.
Visual Reorganization in the Name of Craftsmanship.
Enriched with illustrations, masks, and icons centered around the value diamond, the new design mechanics and a corporate design (CD) emerge, which must also function as co-branding for the individual businesses within the farbrat.
Analogous to color theory, the reduced elements are quickly mixed into unique communication tools, which can convey various abstract themes between craftsmanship, interior design, and the connection within the farbrat.
At the end of the somewhat tricky task, which understandably had to please many stakeholders, we received positive feedback that many companies now want to be called "farbrat," with their old company name in the subline. The corporate design is certainly ready for a flexible and creative future.

In the end, after navigating the challenging task of pleasing many stakeholders, we received positive feedback that many companies now want to be called "farbrat," using their old company name in the tagline. The corporate design is certainly prepared for a flexible and creative future.
