The non-profit Diaconal Institute for Social Professions is a pillar of our society and offers thoughtful and future-oriented (vocational) educational pathways in health, social, and nursing fields. At 16 locations throughout Baden-Württemberg, knowledge oriented towards practical experience and ethical foundations is transferred and conveyed. The institute enjoys a strong reputation in the industry.

Over decades, its self-presentation in service to the common good suffered. To better position itself in the education market and against other institutions, "The DI" needed a striking profile, a new brand identity that aims to inspire (young) people to pursue social professions.

DI became the keyword and the starting point of our joint journey: Internally, the abbreviation “DI” was already in use, and the CD by Hochburg built on this fact for the new brand identity. Just like the educational offerings, the key visual consists of modules filled with content and life. From the basic shapes of the circle, semicircle, and square of the DI logo, the icons unfold alongside the design concept.

Modular Humanity: The New Face of the DI.

The new corporate identity is based on a foundation of a modular, vibrant, and positive design structure, the flow-gradient color concept, which combines dynamism and diversity with an emotional imagery composition. In a harmonious synthesis, the individual elements strikingly and appealingly represent the edgy values and characteristics on which the Diakonic Institute is built.

Warmth, empathy, and diversity, as well as structure, security, and stability, are essential in dealing responsibly with people in various life situations, and form the basis of care professions. These can be incredibly fulfilling and meaningful, which is conveyed through different icons and claims across all channels and communication materials.

Innovation meets compassion. The new brand identity of the DI creates win-win situations for everyone, especially for those who will one day benefit from excellently trained personnel. And as an agency, we were able to contribute a small part to the social support of our society with this creation.

Social Media – A Visual Ode to Social Education.

On Instagram, the DI now presents itself as a visual symphony of empathy. A play of colors that radiates diversity and energy, leading to the core of social professions. With each post, we illustrate a piece of the DI idea. We have created a space that not only informs but also inspires and actively engages the community.

Design for Dialogue – DI Merchandise with Heart.

With a smart focus on aesthetics and meaning, we designed merchandise for DI that is more than just fashion – it’s a statement. Every item – from the T-shirts to the tote bags – carries the newly designed DI logo, symbolizing values like warmth, care, and community. The items are not only practical and stylish, but also conversation starters that spread DI’s mission to the world. They are intentionally kept in DI’s new flow-gradient colors to spread the brand’s fresh, positive energy.
