Branding

Raise our glasses, to the design.

It’s the fusion of two regional, gastronomic powerhouses, capable of catering for a Porsche corporate event just as much as for a heated festival crowd or an euphoric concert audience. Since early 2022, Marcel Benz of Benz & Co. and the legendary Stuttgart restaurateur Hans-Peter Grandl have been leading the companies Grandl’s Festbetriebe GmbH and Gastronomie Grandl GmbH together. 

This results in the continued culinary management of Schleyer-Halle and Porsche-Arena (the so-called Hallenduo), as well as running the famous Grandl’s Hofbräu Festzelt, a monument at the Wasen. So, only the largest gastronomic dimensions. And by the way, they are also a very large catering company. 

Marcel Benz commissioned Hochburg to guide the brand and its various units visually and strategically into the future. The first measures for new assets were already implemented at the Spring Festival 2023 in Grandl’s tent and can be seen at the Benz & Co. stations in the Hallenduo. The Hochburg trick: The "&" was raised as the central symbol and logo mark, taking center stage. 

The inviting, embracing, and full-bodied design of the "&" clearly and quickly characterizes what Benz & Co. stands for: hospitality and community. Never alone, always with others. Whether it's companies or private individuals, catering for a pop concert at the Schleyerhalle partner or a wedding at an off-location. Benz & Co. always connects.

A toast to design perfection.

Since 2022, Hochburg has been part of the CI tap as an agency, bringing all Benz areas step by step to a visual calibration on point. This also includes the Grandls Hofbräu tent – after all, the largest roof at the Spring Festival and the Cannstatter Wasen.

Already in its second consecutive year at the Spring Festival 2024, you could see how the Benz brand continued to grow within the tent. From its presentation on the elegant fabric panels on the ceiling in Hochburg colors and the Benz emblem, from the desktops to the traditional attire of the staff, the designs gradually unfolded in massive dimensions.

We were there at least twice, three times, or maybe even four times, and each visit – experiencing the brand live in extra-large – was pure goosebumps. Feeling a bit proud, and for that, another one to ten Maß, please. A toast to design excellence.

The ampersand takes center stage –
from textile to truck

Benz & Co serves thousands of people weekly across different target groups. The easily accessible ampersand mechanism, a seal of quality, works broadly on Benz trucks, as well as small stickers on packaging and various textiles. With the underscore, the ampersand makes its appearance, in interplay with a grounded, calming, and warm color palette. Aha, Benz & Co are here, now things are getting tasty. 

When the customer skillfully uses the Hochburg brand suitcase after delivery, we roll a keg onto the balcony. Raise your glasses, never mind the design. The three Gs are our signature: design, gastronomy, and sociability.
