For over 90 years, the family-owned company Bauerfeind from Thuringia has been helping people lead an active and pain-free life. Rooted and committed to the health and sports sectors, it is one of the leading manufacturers of medical aids worldwide. In addition to lead testimonial Dirk Nowitzki, many well-known athletes, as well as clubs and especially doctors, rely on Bauerfeind's expertise and innovative products. The majority of production takes place in Germany.

"Motion is Life" is a slogan of Bauerfeind AG. The company sees itself in a growth movement. Classic products such as bandages, orthoses, compression garments, or insoles under the main brand are prescription-only. For the direct end customer business, the company offers a wide range under the Bauerfeind Sports label. The third business segment is Bauerfeind Curaflow, which provides various compression products and education around the topic for the predominantly female community of lymph and lipedema patients.

To bring a brand cleanly to the street

It was fundamentally set up, but the implementation in the daily communication routine for the employees has become increasingly complex, and a consistent transport of the brand, values, and ideas to the outside has become more difficult. The baton was passed to the stronghold. The challenge was: to bring the existing design pragmatically and intuitively to all channels. Pain-free, without cracks and breaks. Straightforwardly conceptualized.

From the executive level, it was now on to the operational level for us: reviewing, structuring, adding detailed assets, systematizing content and typography, and defining layouts. Finding and setting different frameworks in which Bauerfeind looks official and can breathe as a brand. Simple, understandable. On huge displays, catalogs, and of course, on the web.

Bauerfeind wants to improve people's daily lives, and this fact needs a worthy stage for communication. Our mission was to ensure that this can be quickly and easily conveyed in the daily use of communication tools and that sensitive topics, such as Curaflow, are handled with appropriate delicacy. In the end, there was a streamlined design manual that is now being used globally.
