Stagnation paralyzes, everyone knows that. Just like a lack of new input from the outside because one might consider themselves all-knowing. There’s nothing worse for an agency than just paddling around in its own little agency soup. That’s why we like working up high, because it’s airier up there. Good for the brain.
And we love letting in different people and things that seemingly have nothing to do with our daily business. Art, for example. Which in turn inspires us, because what’s more closely connected than art and design? Isn’t design also art? Exactly. So why not temporarily turn our modular spaces into a gallery for the opening of an artist friend’s exhibition? Yeah, why not? That’s exactly why we built the studio! Our agency as a creative hub. An interface for different worlds, scenes, networks. Out of the soup. But always out unconventionally. Creating and connecting platforms. Hochburg signature style.
For the debut vernissage of Salvatore della Rocca, who actually goes by that name and has also worked with us as a designer, our daily agency setting was transformed into an art gallery within two nights. The dark, stormy, and unsettling works of the talented painter hung from the ceiling and gave the space an impressive momentum towards the elite art world.
However, we wanted to break this elitism. And we did so with gin and tonics at the bar and bratwurst from the grill on the terrace. From below, the fine scent of Hirschstrasse from Kap Tormentoso and döner wafted up, and inside, Hochburg buddies and friends of the artist met Stuttgart art connoisseurs from the close-knit, exclusive network of Isabel and Jörg Richardi from Richardi Events. In the end, everyone was pretty relieved that no one was standing stiffly around like at other art conventions. The result: an endlessly cool art session, new inputs for everyone, an artist totally overwhelmed and celebrated by the positive feelings and feedback, who sold a few pieces right away, and another confirmation for us of the potential that lies within Hochburg. Both in the space and the people who work there daily. In the agency as a creative hub.
