Team trip to Paris – Dezember 2022

Team spirit meets avant-garde

Paris is always worth a TGV ride – you just tend to forget, amidst the everyday monitor life, that the TGV leaves from Stuttgart AND comes back the same day! It’s basically like a trip to Tübingen – just completely different. Better to head to the Seine than the Neckar – suddenly this Paris idea with the entire Hochburg love crew was in the air. Post-holiday party means pre-Bastille: everyone boarded the blue jet on rails, arriving at 09:00 in a freezing Paris. Bundled up like on a polar expedition, we completely blew past all step counter goals that day – that’s for sure, mon ami.

Somewhere between a walking tour to Notre Dame (still under reconstruction), we warmed up in a beautiful market hall and with a traditional tarte flambée. You could call it Flammkuchen, but let’s be honest – tarte flambée just sounds better. And of course, on a Paris trip, someone always has to pull out their humble comme-ci comme-ça high school French. It lifted the mood, which was already sky-high anyway. Despite gloves and thermal underwear.

With all the inspiration flowing over us in every street, the cold quickly faded into the background. Everything felt like a sensation – from the boulangerie to the Galeries Lafayette.
When we entered that Lafayette, we stepped into another dimension of shopping: this is where the retail experiences are created that eventually go global.

And before we knew it, we were standing on the rooftop of this global shopping institution, admiring the Eiffel Tower from above. That’s when the TGV conductor called, politely suggesting we start heading back to the station. As a reward for all the walking, the Place de la Concorde offered a one-for-the-books sunset. Departure at 5 p.m., arrival at Stuttgart central at 8 – a completely different kind of train station feeling, as we all know. But the TGV to Paris? Still runs.
